When meals are provided at the B&B, they are prepared and supplied by a local caterer. Please check the individual course description for details.

What does a typical day look like?

Mornings are generally dedicated to English lessons and conversation practice. Afterwards, guests have time to relax, enjoy the B&B or discover Val d’Aveto and the surrounding area. The atmosphere is informal and friendly, with plenty of opportunities to use English naturally throughout the day.

How many participants are in each group?

We keep our groups small to ensure personalised attention and plenty of opportunities to speak English. This creates a relaxed, welcoming environment where everyone can take part with confidence.

How much English will I speak during the course?

English is used throughout the course as much as possible—not only during lessons, but also during informal conversation and everyday activities at the B&B. The aim is to give you plenty of natural opportunities to use English in a relaxed environment.

What improvement can I expect by the end of the course?

Every participant progresses at their own pace. However, most students finish the course with greater confidence in speaking English, a wider vocabulary, improved fluency and a stronger ability to communicate naturally in everyday situations.

Are there any aspects of the course that guests may have questions about?

Many guests want to know whether the course is suitable for their level of English, whether they will feel comfortable speaking English from the very first day, and how the lessons are organised. They also ask about our small-group approach, the balance between structured lessons and informal conversation, and whether the course is suitable for people who come on their own.

Our aim is to create a relaxed and supportive learning environment where every guest feels comfortable using English, getting to know the other guests, and becoming part of the group from the moment they arrive.

What are the main concerns of potential participants?

The most common concerns are: “Will my English be good enough?”, “Will I be able to follow the conversations?” or “Will I feel comfortable if I come on my own?

We always reassure participants that The Language Kitchen is a friendly and supportive place to improve their English.
